Grace Bible Church - Discover the Joy!

Missions

We purpose, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to attend to its services regularly; and to give financially as God has prospered us, to the support of the ministry, to expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel throughout all nations.

To fulfill this call we have twenty-nine Missionary families ranging from home (here in the states) to around the world. Each month we will be giving a little information of each of these families, their call, area of service and any praises or prayer concerns.

Recently the Pastor read this to us when a missionary was here from Africa...

"MY COMMITMENT AS A CHRISTIAN

I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power, The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line, The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of His. I won't look back, let 'Up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense; and my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small , planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor of power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, and my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have-stayed up, stored up, and prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problems recognizing me - my banner will be clear!

In the midst of the global financial crisis and the daily bombardment of negative news, we need to fix our eyes upon the Lord, the Sovereign One, who is in full control.  May we never lose perspective of eternity and the need to live out our faith daily to positively impact God's Kingdom.  Even though our earthly treasures may depreciate and diminish in this insecure world, we can make every effort to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven which are imperishable, unfading and secured. We appreciate your sacrificial and continual support as we partner together to reach the lost with the gospel of Christ.

Tribal Watch-Care

I would like to highlight the needs of the tribal work in the jungle of Suriname.  We have had several meeting to work on a Strategic Watch-Care ministry plan to help bring tribal churches to "complete" indigenization where they can stand on their own. In order to do this we have an urgent need to recruit two missionary couples or families. Servant leaders who sense a clear call from God, demonstrate godliness and integrity in personal, marital and social life, and have the desire and ability to live and work in a tribal setting.  The missionaries recruited would spend the first term living among the tribes learning their languages culture and customs. After assimilation, the missionaries would be stationed in the city of Paramaribo and make periodic trips to the tribes to provide Watch-Care. Pray that God would provide the right missionaries who would be able to implement a strategic Watch-Care ministry plan and curriculum to develop and release leaders.

Hindustani Outreach

We continue to reach out to the Hindustani community of Jarikaba. 98% of the people are Hindus. Our goal is to equip and mobilize the believers in our house church to reach out to their unsaved relatives, friends, and neighbors by sharing the gospel with them. Pray that God will give boldness and wisdom to the believers to share the love of Christ with the Hindus in practical ways and represent Christ well in their midst.

While we do our part to in reaching Hindustani for Christ, we are trying to challenge and mobilize the churches in Suriname to plant new churches among the Hindustani.  Many of the churches do not have a vision for church planting and multiplication. Pray God ill move in the hearts of the church leaders so that they will catch the vision of planting house churches among the Hindustani.

A good number of Hindustani Christian men are having different problems in their lives that are disqualifying them from serving the Lord effectively. Many have problems with alcohol, smoking, and unstable marital relationship.  We are in the process of planning special activities to fellowship with them in hopes that we will earn their trust enabling us to minister to their specific needs and help them to have victory over these problems so they can become the leaders God intends for them to be in their homes and in the church.  Pray that God will give us His wisdom to plan and to tackle the needs among the men so that they will become servant leaders.

We are grateful continually for your partnership with us.  May the Lord bless you abundantly and meet all of your present and future needs.
